Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is widely credited with starting the modern research into the study of eyewitness memory and child victimes as witness in legal contexts. Professor Goodman is a prolific author and has been awarded numerous awards and grants. She has worked with various organizations and government officials across the globe on policy and research concerning child victims in the legal system. She also serves as a consulting for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center. (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center), of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She holds memberships in many professional associations, including the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is a member of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding member) International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has been the president of three divisions (Division Society for Policy on Child and Family as well as Practice Division of the American Psychology-Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
